THE BASICS | REQUIREMENTS

To experience the Convos interface, there are some basic requirements that you will need to meet. If you feel that you have met all of these requirements and are still having trouble accessing Convos, please contact us here and we can try to determine what the problem is.

  • An Internet connection
  • A browser with Adobe's Flash 9 installed
  • Resolution of 1024 X 768 or greater

Remember, if you only need send or receive new messages from your Convos groups, all you need is access to your email account. Learn more here.

Internet Connection

The Convos interface can be loaded from any computer with an internet connection. While it will work just fine on a dial-up connection, we recommend using a DSL or cable modem to minimize the time it takes to initially load the Convos interface and access larger files and photos.

To check your internet connection speed against what's available in your area, click here (service provided by CNET).

In the future, we'll be looking to utilize Adobe's AIR technology to allow you to download Convos to your computer and interact with information while you're offline.

Adobe's Flash 9

Convos was built in Adobe's Flex 2 and works through your Flash player. Chances are, you already have Flash 9 installed on your computer. As of March 2008, Flash 9 was installed on 97.3% of computers in US and Canada.

To check which version of Flash you are currently using, click here (service provided by Adobe)

Display Resolutions

Convos was designed to take advantage of the full size of your computer's screen.  Our interface was designed to scale down to fit displays of 1024 X 768.  Below that size, you will still be able to use the Convos interface but some sections may require scrolling.

Below are some examples of how Convos looks at different display resolutions.

At 1020 X 720                                           At 1440 X 880
