GROUP MODULES | MESSAGES

Group Messages are a simple way to communicate with group members over email. Messages are distributed to your members via email and all messages are kept organized in the Convos interface.  Best of all, you can send and receive group messages from any email enabled device without having to log in to Convos.

Sending Group Messages

Sending messages to your group members can be done from within Convos or from any of your verified email accounts.

From the Convos interface

While you are in a group, select "Message" from the Group Item dropdown.

A blank message will appear in the first tab of the viewer. If you wish to have a dedicated tab open for this message, simply click the PIN icon located on the right side of the first tab.

By default, the "To" line will display "Everybody". This means that when you send this group message, it will be sent to everyone in the group.

Fill out the Subject line, add CC recipients, and attach any files you would like to include with the message. As you type your message, remember that you can use the WYSIWYG controls at the bottom to control how the message will look.

When you have finished typing your message, you can click "Send".  A message will be sent to everyone in the group and your message will display in the group's Messages module in the center panel.

From an external email account

FirefoxScreenSnapz363.jpgConvos allows you to send a groupwide message by sending a message to the group email address you created during group setup.  To see what your group email address is, click Settings in your group administration controls on the bottom left of Convos

To send a message, simply send an email to the group email address. Convos will check that the account you're sending the message from is one of your verified email accounts. Once it verifies this, your message will be sent to everyone in the group and will be displayed in the group's Messages module.

Sending messages from an external account works from any verified email account of your member. If you have a Blackberry, iPhone, or other mobile device with email enabled, you can easily send messages to everyone in a group.

REMEMBER: Group members can only send group messages from an email address that has been verified. When you signed up for Convos, you verified one of your email addresses and you can add more in Settings. We do this so if a group message comes from someone who is not a member of the group, it will not be sent to the group.

Receiving / Replying to Group Messages

Receiving and replying to group messages is similar to creating and sending new group messages. There are 3 places you will receive group messages and have the ability to reply to the entire group.

My Convos Messages

All of your group's messages can be seen and accessed in My Convos Messages. This allows you to see everything that has been sent from all of your groups in one place. If you open a message in the Viewer, you can reply to the entire group by clicking "Reply".

 Group Messages

If a member accesses a group in Convos, they can see that specific group's messages in the Group Messages module. If you open a message in the Viewer, you can reply to the entire group by clicking "Reply".

External Email Account

All of your group messages from Convos are forwarded to an email address of your choosing. You can reply to these messages from this external account by simply pressing "Reply".
