GROUP MEMBERSHIP | OVERVIEW

Depending on the type of group you are managing, your group membership can vary over the life of the group. Some groups will always have the same members, some groups will grow over time, and some will keep the same number of members but have a periodic turnover.

FirefoxScreenSnapz406.jpgWhen group admins click the Members button in the Group Administration panel, they have access to a variety of simple tools to help them track, add, edit, and remove members from their group.

The Group Members Window

The four tabs across the top of the Group Members pop-up contain lists and controls to accomplish everything you need to manage your group's membership.

Overview of Group Members

Below is an overview of each tab in the Group Members window. To learn more about how to use these settings, click the tab name below.

Current Members

FirefoxScreenSnapz430.jpg The Current Members tab contains a list of your current group members.

From this tab, an admin can invite members, edit member roles, update member profiles, remove members, or send a message to a member.

Distribution Lists

FirefoxScreenSnapz431.jpg The Distribution Lists tab contains a list of various distribution lists that have been set up for the group. By default, every group has a distribution list for "Everyone".

Distribution lists allow you to send a personal message to a subset of group members. These messages will not appear in the group and will be from the sender.

Pending Members

FirefoxScreenSnapz432.jpg The Pending Members tab displays a list of group invitiations that have been sent but the invitee has yet to accept.

From here, you can also re-send or cancel a pending invitation.

Past Members

FirefoxScreenSnapz433.jpg The Past Members tab displays a list of group members that have left or been removed from the group.

From here, you can view why the user is no longer in the group.
