GROUP MODULES | EVENTS (Now with RSVP!)

Group Events are a simple way to invite group members to an event and collect RSVPs. Members can receive event invitations via email and in their My Convos Schedule. Members can reply to events with their intention to attend or not attend a particular event so group leaders can easily keep track of responses.

Creating Group Events

FirefoxScreenSnapz252.jpg While you are in a group, select "Event" from the Group Item dropdown. 

A blank Event will appear in the first tab of the viewer. If you wish to have a dedicated tab open for this Event, simply click the PIN icon located on the right side of the first tab.

 


New Group Events

With your new Group Event open, you can give the Event a name, location, and start / end date and time.

In the gray section below the end date / time, there's an area to select where you would like this event to be displayed and whether you would like to allow members to RSVP to the event.






 

3 Simple Options

We recently added options for group events, allowing you to select the most appropriate type based on the event you're creating.

Group Schedule Only

When saved, the group event will only appear in the group schedule. Members will not see this in their MyConvos. This is great for an event that is important to the group but does every member doesn't need to know about. Some groups use this for things like displaying the group's anniversary.

Group and Member schedule

Just like the original way of creating events, when these events are saved, they are displayed in the Group and in member's MyConvos schedule.

You also have an option to send an email notification to members that you have added a new event.

Group and Member schedule with RSVP

The 3rd and newest option is Group Events with RSVP. When saved, events display in the Group's schedule and member's MyConvos. When a member selects the event in MyConvos, they can set their RSVP.

If a group has a member directory enabled, everyone can click the RSVP tab in the event to see who's coming.

You can also send an email notification to members letting them know you have added the new RSVP event.

Where can members view and RSVP to Group Events?

View in the Group

When a member accesses the group in Convos, the Schedules module will list the event in the middle panel. Members can view the details by clicking the event in the list. 

If you have the ability to create or edit group events, you can see the RSVP responses on RSVP events.


View / RSVP MyConvos

 When you send a Group Event, it will also be displayed in each member's My Convos Schedule. If your event was setup to have RSVP, each member will be able to reply to the event from MyConvos. Below is an RSVP event shown in the center panel.

Select it to modify your RSVP response.
